"With this summer collection, Alembika is taking another step towards sustainability.

Every garment I design has its own purpose and value and is made to last. This season I decided to design fewer pieces in the collection to create a variety based on models that really matter.
Surplus goods are donated and fabrics are reused and repurposed. This season I wanted to reuse as many of the fabrics we selected as possible. I find that working with limited amounts of fabric produces the most original pieces. I love combining different fabrics and textures and working with a patchwork technique. Leftover fabric from a previous season is used in small sections in a new garment and when combined with other textiles it becomes something completely new and interesting. This technique has become one of my trademarks and allows me to make full use of the fabrics I love.

“In this summer collection Alembika takes yet another step towards sustainability.

Every garment I create is designed with its unique purpose and value and manufactured to last. This season I decided to design fewer items in the collection in order to create variety based on truly important pieces.

Since the outstart of our company we have never buried or burned either fabric or clothes.

Excess goods are donated and fabric is repurposed and used again. This season I wanted to recycle as many of our chosen fabrics as possible.

I find that working with limited quantities of fabric brings out the most original pieces. I love to combine different fabrics and textures, working with a patchwork technique. A small roll from a previous season can be used in small sections in a new garment, and when combined with other textiles it becomes something completely new and interesting. This technique has become one of my trademarks and allows me to fully use fabrics that I love.
